Remember to Care During The Holiday Season!
This season is always rough for the homeless, people without jobs, and kids whose parents are going through hard times. With the holidays coming up, we thought it would be a good time to reflect on the many ways that you can easily help make a life changing difference in someone’s year by simply looking around your home for things that can be donated to local charities and homeless shelters.
If you are looking for ways to help, there are always nonperishable boxes and cans of food that can be taken to food drives (there are many places around that will take them to your local Food Bank) or if you are in the Louisville, Kentucky area you can drop them off directly at the Dare to Care Food Bank on Fern Valley Rd. You can also donate old clothes, toys, books, personal care items (like toothbrushes/toothpaste), blankets, coats, linen’s, etc. This website has a great list of places in the surrounding area that could use some help.
MedQuest College has donated toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss to charities in the past, such as an adult daycare center for the physically and mentally challenged. Students and Instructors donated time to teach the folks there proper dental hygiene and why it is important. Their students made a difference that day and continue to make a difference in the lives of their patients at Dental and Medical facilities across Kentuckiana.
If helping patients in the dental field interests you, you may want to consider becoming a Dental Assistant. MedQuest College offers an amazing Dental Assisting program in Louisville and Frankfort, Kentucky that teaches its students about all the duties and responsibilities of a Dental Assistant in general practices, as well as the specialties! Even more so, MedQuest College has classes that work with just about any schedule you have. Your new career as a Dental Assistant is waiting. Click here for more information.
