Is a Healthcare Career Right For You?

Take The Free Quiz

Get your associates of applied science at MedQuest’s new Lexington campus and be on your way to a career in either Vascular or Cardiac Ultrasound.

Have you ever wanted to have the skills to look inside the body to find what’s causing a patient’s symptoms? Diagnostic medical sonography, often called ultrasound, uses high frequency waves to generate images of different organs and blood vessels inside the body. It is often used to help diagnose conditions such as cardiovascular (heart) disease.

You can get your associates of applied science at MedQuest College and be on your way to a career in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

Our Cardiovascular Sonography program is offered at MedQuest’s new, state-of-the-art facility in Lexington and features hands-on training that prepares you to become a cardiac sonographer or vascular technologist. You’ll learn how to produce real time images using ultrasound to examine a patient’s heart chambers, walls, valves and vessels in order to help diagnose heart disease and/or vascular problems.

Cardiac sonographers as well as vascular sonographers perform ultrasound in a variety of settings, working with patients of all ages, who range from healthy to critically ill, both in and out of the hospital. At MedQuest, we’ll prepare you to work with all types of patients in facilities ranging from large hospitals to small outpatient clinics. Your clinical training will include time working alongside doctors, technologists and other staff to learn ultrasound technique and patient care.

Beyond your degree
Once you complete your associates of applied science, you’ll be eligible to sit for the Cardiovascular Credentialing Institution (CCI) credentials as either a Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or as a Vascular Sonographer (RVS). If you already have an advanced Bachelor’s Degree, you will be eligible to sit for the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) credentials as either a Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or a Vascular Sonographer (RVT).

The Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at MedQuest also includes professional development training and a background in medical and legal ethics, so you’ll be ready for your new career as an ultrasound technologist. Our director of career services will work with you to build your resume and practice interviewing for a job in your field.
