MedQuest College’s Lexington campus was recently named the top technical college in Lexington.

The award came from the Lexington Herald-Leader’s inaugural Best of Lexington competition, which recognized the best of the best in the city from restaurants to lawn care companies to grocery stores. MedQuest won gold in the Technical College category, which recognized the top three vocational schools in the area.

“To receive the award Best of Lexington is a true attribute to the success of the faculty and staff here,” said Lexington Campus Director Russell Mauk. “Our mission is providing the most direct path to a rewarding career, and this award that the community of Lexington has granted us shows that we’re able to do that with great success.”

More than 3,000 businesses, organizations and individuals competed in the competition, vying for the top three spots in 215 categories. Winners were chosen by the community, with more than 137,000 votes cast.

Continued Growth

MedQuest College began more than 20 years ago and has been providing high-quality education to the Indiana and Kentucky area ever since. The doors to its current Lexington campus opened in 2017. At the time, students could receive degrees and certificates in medical assisting, dental assisting, practical nursing and sonography.

Since then, the campus has continued to grow. It now offers six programs, including the new veterinary technology program, a two-year associate degree program that prepares students to be vet techs.

Small Class Sizes

Despite its growth, MedQuest continues to be focused on maintaining what it is known for: small classroom sizes and hands-on learning to help students find the most direct path to a career in health care.

These small class sizes mean students have the chance to build close relationships with instructors, and they also have plenty of opportunities for hands-on learning whether that be on the MedQuest campus or at externships.

Lifelong Support

MedQuest’s support doesn’t just end when students graduate. All graduates receive lifelong job placement assistance for free. This is on top of the professional development support students receives while enrolled in class.

But MedQuest wouldn’t have been named the top technical college without the support of the community.

“Our deepest thanks for your support,” Mauk said. “Our deepest thanks for your faith in what we’re able to do, and thank you for your continued support of all the MedQuest students and the MedQuest campus.”
